Summer Arts Adventure

Weekly camps featuring games, art, dance parties, music, field trips, community service and more!

Imagine spending your summer days immersed in the cultural arts, building confidence and impacting your community. Fun camp themes combined with performance opportunities, community service projects, walks to local parks, and learning more about the community we live in will provide a unique experience for your child. 

 

A low instructor/student ratio with qualified, professional instructors will ensure a personalized learning experience in a safe nurturing environment.

All lead counselors are safety verified (background checks) and CPR/First-Aid Certified.

Pre-Registration for 2023 campers and currently enrolled students is being emailed out beginning Jan 22.

Join the gang as we spend the summer solving mysteries using STEAM based activities.  

​

Each week will feature games, movement, art, music and more designed to help us solve crimes and explore the mysteries of the world around us. 
Field trips/Guest Instructors TBA (we are working on a great line up including NC Science Museum and hands on trips with guided experiences)
Weekly walks to park and local business for ice cream

Choose from two camp options:

​

Half Day Adventure 8:00-12:00 Rising K-Rising 3rd grade (Ages 5-8)

Early drop off 7:30 or late pick up 1:00 is available

Campers will walk to get ice cream and to the park each week but will not go on off campus field trips

  Campers must be restroom independent from changing clothes, managing bathroom needs, etc.

Full Day Adventure 8:00-5:00 Rising 1st-Age 12 (Ages 6-12)

(Early drop off 7:30 and late pick up 5:30 also available)

Campers will take an off campus field trip most weeks (weather and driver availability may effect trips)

Campers must be able to sit in a booster seat that is provided by AIDA.

A Typical Day

​

At AIDA we believe in the value of cooperative play and kid driven activities.  Our counselors will make every effort to keep on a schedule but we do recognize the importance of allowing our students to take initiative to organize games and activities.  We will often follow their lead throughout the day ensuring that campers are safe and making core memories to last a lifetime.

Campers will receive a weekly schedule one week prior to camp but this will help give a general idea of what our day looks like

 

7:30-8:30 Check in (usually outside)

8:30-10:00 Outdoor games/activities 

10:00-10:30 snack

10:30-11:30 Guided STEAM Activity

12:00 lunch

1:00-2:00 Chill Zone/Free Play

2:00-3:00 Guided STEAM Activity

3:00-3:30 Snack

3:30-4:30 Guided STEAM Activity

4:30-5:30 Free Play/Check Out

How to Register

A ONE TIME $35 non-refundable annual summer camp registration fee per student is due when registering for the first class.  
(Fee includes a t-shirt and drawstring bag for field trips)

*Please select this item under "optional fees" during registration for your first camp. Please select this only one time per child. It will apply to the entire summer even if you come back later to add camps.  
REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE VALID UNTIL THIS FEE IS PAID


$25 non-refundable deposit per week per student is also due with registration .
This fee will be due at registration per camp/student.
Balance (minus the $25 deposit) wi
ll be auto-charged one week prior to camp date to the card you have on file.

If choice camp is full, please join the waitlist and we will contact you. 

Cancellations are due one week prior to camp start date.  No refunds once camp has started unless we can fill your spot. 

Fees 

Half Day Adventure 
Ages 4-Rising K
8:00-12:00 $150/week 
Add early drop off at (7:30 am, $20/wk) or late pick up (1:00 pm $30/wk) add both for $40/wk*

K-5 Summer Arts Adventure
Rising 1st-6th grade
8:00am-5:00pm $275/week 

Early drop (7:30) or Late pick up 5:30 addition $20/week each or both for $30/wk*
*To register simply select this option during registration. You will need to select this option for each camp.

Students must register for late pickup for the full week.  If registering for both discount will be adjusted in final balance due. 

Registration is for the FULL week of camp.
Missed days are not transferrable or refundable.

Additional Information 
*Fees include all supplies and enrichment activities.  
*Field trips may be an additional fee. (Most field trips will be free, stay in our area and will be related to the weekly theme).

Van field trips are for Full Day campers only.
*Once a week campers will walk downtown to get ice cream and go to the park. ALL campers will go on this walk. Students will need to bring $5/wk for ice cream. This can be brought the first day. Families often send campers doing multiple weeks with enough to last a few weeks. (Each camper will have their own pouch for money that is managed by the counselors)
*Daily activities include arts/crafts, music, games, outside time, and more!
*T-shirts will be worn to field trips (this includes downtown walks to local parks) and drawstring bags will be use to carry water bottles and any treasures from our trips.

*Registered campers will receive an email each week with detailed instructions and a complete schedule.  

What to bring each day
*Wear comfortable clothing, closed toe shoes
*Sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before arriving at camp
*No toys, electronics, etc. (this includes watches of any kind and phones) should be brought to camp**
*Water Bottle (Students who forget their water bottle will be charged $5 for a ne
w reusable water bottle. This will be charged to the card on file)
*8-5:00 students need lunch, 2 snacks
*9:00-12 (1 snack) 9-2 (lunch, 1 snack)
(We recommend packing extra food as we don't keep much on site)
(We also recommend clearly marking/separating snacks and lunches. Especially for our younger students who aren't able to regulate food to have enough all day)
*Yoga Mat


AIDA reserves the right to cancel camps without minimum registration. 
In the event camp is canceled by AIDA, a refund will be given.

**A note about smart watches, phones and electronics. 

Parents will be receiving updates, photos, and information throughout the day to keep you informed about your child's progress and location.  You will also have direct access to counselors during the day.  

We also keep our campers busy with tech free activities throughout the day.  

We do recognize that parents want to feel safe about their children going on field trips and are open to allowing watches for long field trips IF a parent feels they need one at the owners discretion.  This will be done with a contract for use in place and consent that AIDA (including team members, jr counselors, etc) are not held liable if lost, stolen or damaged.
