At Arts Inspired Dance Academy (AIDA), we believe the arts do more than teach skills—they help people discover who they are, build confidence, form meaningful connections, and find their place in the community.

​

Since 2009, we have been creating opportunities for children, teens, and adults to explore the performing and creative arts in a welcoming, supportive environment. What began in Fuquay-Varina has grown into a broader creative arts community, now serving families in both Fuquay-Varina and Lillington.

Our Story

Arts Inspired Dance Academy began in 2009 at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center with a vision of making quality arts education accessible to our community. In 2018, we moved to our downtown Fuquay-Varina location, continuing to grow our programs while staying true to the values that inspired our beginning. Today, AIDA is expanding that vision into Downtown Lillington through the AIDA Center for Creative Arts, creating new opportunities for families to discover, explore, and experience the arts.

 

Although our locations have grown and our programs have evolved, our purpose remains the same: to provide meaningful, affordable arts experiences where individuals can learn, create, connect, and thrive.

 

Our Mission

Our mission is to ignite a lifelong love of the arts by providing high-quality, affordable opportunities for creative expression, learning, and personal growth.  Through dance, music, art, movement, and the performing arts, we nurture creativity, build confidence, encourage compassion, and help develop strong individuals who contribute positively to their communities.

 

We believe every person deserves the opportunity to experience the arts, regardless of experience or ability. We believe children should have room to grow at their own pace, discover their interests, and enjoy the process of learning.

More Than a Dance Studio

AIDA is a family-centered creative arts community. We offer opportunities for beginners, experienced performers, young children discovering their interests, and adults who want to continue exploring their creativity.

Our programs include:

• Dance Education: Classes for toddlers through adults, offering opportunities to learn, grow, and enjoy movement.

• Creative Arts: Experiences in art, music, movement, and other creative disciplines.

• Arts Adventures: Camps and enrichment opportunities that bring together creativity, exploration, and fun.

• Early Childhood Programs: Age-appropriate experiences designed to encourage imagination, coordination, discovery, and a love of learning.

• Performance Opportunities: Showcases, productions, community events, and outreach experiences that help students build confidence and share their talents.

Program offerings vary by location, allowing us to serve the needs of each community while maintaining the same welcoming AIDA spirit.

AIDA is proudly non-competitive, and that will not change. We focus on personal growth, creative exploration, skill development, and the joy of participating in the arts rather than pressure to outperform others.

Our approach is family-centered and grounded in an understanding of child development. We value small classes, supportive instruction, and an environment where kids can be kids. We make room for busy family schedules, seasonal activities, different learning styles, and the simple joy of discovering something new.Students can build skills, make friends, gain confidence, and participate at a level that feels right for them. Performance opportunities are available for those who wish to take the stage, but we believe the value of the arts extends far beyond a performance.  At AIDA, success isn't measured by trophies or perfection. It's measured in growth, confidence, creativity, connection, and the courage to try.

Behind every AIDA program is a team of instructors, guest artists, studio support staff, counselors, and volunteers who care deeply about the people they serve.Our team brings experience from a variety of artistic and educational backgrounds, along with a commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. We value knowledgeable instruction, thoughtful guidance, and positive relationships with students and families.

Performance & Community Engagement

While AIDA is not a competitive studio, we believe performance can be a powerful way to build confidence, develop teamwork, and celebrate artistic growth.Depending on the program and location, students may have opportunities to participate in seasonal showcases, theatrical productions, community festivals, special events, and outreach performances.

 

Through Aspire! Performing Arts Company, Inspirations Community Ensemble, and other AIDA performance opportunities, we encourage students to share their talents while discovering the joy of contributing to something larger than themselves.

Our commitment to the arts extends beyond the classroom. We are proud to create opportunities for students to connect with their community through performances, service, and shared creative experiences.

Making the Arts Accessible

Accessibility and community connection have been part of AIDA's mission from the beginning. We believe the arts should be within reach of families from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances.  Through our outreach efforts and our affiliated Inspired Kids 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we help provide scholarships, educational opportunities, special performances, and creative experiences for children and families who might otherwise face barriers to participation.  Our work has been recognized through the NC Parks & Recreation Arts & Humanities Award, a United Arts Council grant supporting arts in municipalities, and community recognition through the Main & Broad Maggy Awards, where AIDA was a 2025 and 2026 finalist in the Best Summer Camp/Track Out and Best Kids Programs categories.We are grateful to the families, educators, community partners, volunteers, and supporters who have helped make this work possible.

Arts Inspired Dance Academy — Fuquay-Varina (118 E Jones St. Downtown FV)

Our original community, rooted in a journey that began in 2009 and continued with our move to downtown Fuquay-Varina in 2018. This location remains an important part of our history and our commitment to accessible, family-centered arts education.

 

AIDA Center for Creative Arts — Downtown Lillington (29 W. Front St.) Opens Fall 2026 

Our growing creative arts home in downtown Lillington, expanding access to arts education and creating new opportunities for families in Harnett County and surrounding communities.
