Happy Birthday AIDA

It's hard to believe that 5 years ago we were moving into our new home on Jones St. We weren't new to Fuquay, our journey began in 2009 when I returned to the area. I had learned about a small community program at the FV community center and was ready to step back into teaching after a short break after the birth of my youngest child. 9 years later and that small program grew. A delay in the building of the arts center forced our hand to find a new home, and we never left.

I never could have imagined 5 years ago where that unexpected turn would take us. We especially weren't prepared when COVID hit and the momentum we were building was forced to pause as the world came to a close and we watched COVID transform our lives. But it didn't stop us. We pivoted, saw the needs in the community and jumped in offering outside classes, and later adding our Arts Adventure programs. Virtual school and preschool for kids that didn't have schools to attend, smaller classes as we tried to comply with regulations on gatherings and social distancing, and a new way to approach our performances with original productions and movies for our students.

Thought it all we persevered. And here we are, entering our 6th year on Jones St. Considering our future and what the next 5 years will bring. We are so thankful for the continued support of our students and families. We look forward to sharing even more adventures. ---Michelle Hankins, Owner

Parenting Teens

Somehow I am a teen boy mom. I feel like just yesterday they were tiny little creatures who depended on me for everything. Now they are taller than me (well at least one is 🤣), one has graduated high
