Meet our Staff
Ms. Michelle Hankins, Owner/Director
Michelle Hankins has over 30 years of award-winning experience in the cultural arts as a student, performer, educator and executive. She is the Owner/Director of Arts Inspired Dance Academy and Inspired Kids 501(c)3 located in Fuquay-Varina, NC. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and a BS in Child and Adolescent Development from UNC-Greensboro. Her mission to build strong dancers, strong citizens and strong communities is recognized throughout the community with programs that focus on often underserved populations such as seniors, foster children and those with minimal resources and access to the arts. In 2016, Arts Inspired was the recipient of the Arts and Humanities award from the North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association and in 2017 was recipient of the United Arts Council of Wake County Arts For Municipalities grant. In addition to her work in the community, Ms. Hankins has worked in both recreational and competitive fields of dance, gymnastics, music, and the creative arts. She has choreographed and produced two ballets, “The Littlest Angel” (2002), recipient of the United Arts Council Emerging Artist Award, and “The Toy Shoppe” (2016) along with numerous annual productions featuring students of all ages and abilities. While the accolades from a lifetime in the performing arts are a symbol of her personal and professional accomplishments, the real reward is the joy on the faces of her students and families as Arts Inspired Dance Academy and Inspired Kids offers students from expansive demographic backgrounds quality educational programming and makes a tremendous impact on the cultural enhancement of her growing community.
In addition to her busy life impacting the community, Ms. Michelle is also the proud mom of two amazing boys, Camden, age 14 and Dylan, age 12. She is also a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. She is also First Aid/CPR certified and is excited to share her passion for impacting communities, building strong dancers and strong citizens.
Anthony DiMarzio, Marketing and Technical Coordinator
President/Treasurer Inspired Kids 501(c)3
Often working in the background by producing videos, editing music, carrying heavy things, and creating original musical compositions, Anthony DiMarzio has been with Arts Inspired since its beginning. He has a BA in History from Bridgewater State Collee; Master’s Degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management from NC State; and is currently working on a graduate certificate in Public Management and Leadership at ECU. He is a fulltime parks and recreation professional and serves on the Harnett County Library Board of Trustees. He enjoys travelling, reading, writing, making music, running, and basketball.
Meredith Davidheiser, Studio Development Coordinator and Instructor
Meredith was born in Raleigh and has continued to live locally her entire life. She graduated from Apex High School in 1997. Extra curricular activities In high school were cheerleading coach for pop warner football league ages 7-10. She also spent many years as an after school counselor at the ymca. Her education continued at Peace College (now William Peace University) earning a Psychology degree in 2001. Meredith took a special interest while studying psychology in childhood development and exceptional individuals. This interest led to an internship with the state working with a division of social services that helped families with children ages birth to 3 years old, tracking development and helping with special programs and services as needed. Upon graduation Meredith spent her professional career at IBM and BCBSNC. Once her children Reagan and Tripp were born she made the decision to be a stay at home Mom. Now that her children are both school age she is excited to be working with Ms. Michelle to help grow Arts Inspired and impact our growing community. Ms. Meredith is CPR/First Aid Certified and is often felt teaching in our creative movement and introductory classes for toddlers to age 6.
Jaylun Moore, Guest Artist
Jaylun has 10 years of dance experience, and has performed, taught, and choreographed throughout North Carolina. Jaylun has taught with North Carolina Dance Institute, L. A. Dance, and Optimum Dance Productions. In 2016, she performed in the NC Dance festival tour (under the choreography of Kristi Vincent Johnson). She was also selected to present her work in the 2015 and 2016 “Emergence” Choreographers Showcase in Durham, NC (Hosted by the Triangle Dance Project). Jaylun was a recipient of the 2018 leadership scholarship for the American Dance Festival’s Summer Intensive and has taken classes from artists such as Nia Love, Momar Ndiaye, Joy Davis, James White, and Erica Sobol. In addition, she is the Co-founder/Director of “5:15 Dance Ministry”, alongside her sister Taylor Moore. 5:15 has opened for national recording artist Chrisette Michele (alongside artist Alexis Jones), and were recently featured dancers/choreographers for The Summit Church’s annual “Christmas at DPAC - 2018” Performing at 6 sold out shows, and more.
Although Jaylun finds her home in contemporary, Jaylun is a versatile artist, having trained in the areas of contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and gymnastics/acro. In class, she aims to create a positive, enlightening, and open environment for students. Her goal is to teach and create art that provides a lasting experience for both students and viewers. Jaylun’s dance philosophy is: “Dance is the language of the heart. Don’t plagiarize. Speak with your own words.” In summary, Jaylun absolutely loves to dance and is excited to share her passion with AIDA!
Anita Bolz, Office/Studio Support, Sassy Senior Tapper
I started taking tap at the community center as part of my "bucket list". I loved it so much that I bought tap shoes and have been "hoofing" for the past five years! Working at AIDA, I have loved being around the younger dancers. Their energy and enthusiasm are truly inspiring.
Caitlyn Kell, Studio Support Assistant
Caitlyn is 17 years old. She started dancing when she was 10, and has been dancing with Arts Inspired since she was 12. In addition to dancing, she loves singing and hand lettering. Ms. Caitlyn is at the studio multiple days a week and is a true inspiration to her peers and students. We have enjoyed watching Ms. Caitlyn in a number of roles including lead role our our original ballet, "The Toy Shoppe". We asked Ms. Caitlyn to share what assisting means to her and she share this:
"I can't think of the words to describe how much I love dancing with Ms. Michelle and Arts Inspired. I hope I can encourage younger kids to find the same love and joy dancing has brought me."
Ms. Makenna, Lead Assistant
Ms. Makenna is 13 years old, a founding member of Inspirations and has been dancing with Arts Inspired since she was 5. She can be found at the studio almost every day either assisting or taking classes. Her impact on fellow dancers has been tremendous. She is loved by everyone, peers, instructors and students. When asked why she likes assisting with classes she had this to say:
"I like to help Ms. Michelle with her younger classes because when I get older I want to be a choreographer and have my own studio. I also love to help the kids follow their dreams. My favorite part is when you see them really trying, really wanting it and then that "OH!" moment! I like how they look up to me and I can see their passion. I really like helping them accomplish so much. This is why I love assisting so much!"
Avery Holste, Class Assistant
Avery Holste is 9 years old and in the 4th grade. She has a younger sister and an older brother. She has been dancing with Arts Inspired since she was 4 years old. Avery loves cats and listening to music. At home, you can often find her creating her own dances with her friends.
"I love dance because there are so many different types and I love putting them together to make my own dances. I am excited about being an assistant because I can help others learn to dance. I enjoy coming to dance class as many days as possible. "
Katie Shauger, Class Assistant
Katie is 14 years old. She has been dancing for 2 years. Her other interests include writing, reading, and art. She is homeschooled, and her favorite subject is science.
“I’m really looking forward to assisting this year, because I love helping and playing with little kids. I love dancing because it keeps me active, and I love the music."
